The first cohort of ELSAs were trained in Poole as part of the Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TaMHS) project in Autumn 2009. Thirty ELSAs from 18 different schools attended the training and are working in schools supported by the TaMHS practitioners.

The second wave of training was run independently of the TaMHS project and 14 ELSAs were trained during the summer term of 2010. The feedback from the ELSAs was very positive and all were excited and looking forward to developing their role in school.

A further course is planned for Spring/Summer 2011 and some schools have already expressed an interest in purchasing places on this course.
