2010 has been an exciting time in Dorset for those who are committed to improving young people’s emotional health and wellbeing. Dorset is part of the Targeted Mental Health in Schools project and we have used this as an opportunity to launch the ELSA project. In January and February 2010, 19 support staff from schools at the heart of the TaMHS project received their training. Our first group of ELSAs have been keen to establish their roles. They have been supported by our two TaMHS Primary Mental Health Workers, George Baines and Anna Lander, as well as receiving regular supervision sessions with Chris Russell, the Senior Educational Psychologist who leads TaMHS and ELSA in Dorset. We even featured in an article in the local CAMHS magazine and website.
